The next 3 months, we will be concentrating on Women in the BOOK of EXODUS...
One of our guides will be Avivah Zornberg, whose book THE PARTICULARS OF RAPTURE will give us a common text to read on our own. Avivah is a contemporary longtime Torah scholar and commentator who lives in Jerusalem. She is well versed in Literature, Psychology, theology, ancient and modern thinking etc. Each chapter of her book focuses on a single TORAH PORTION of the week in the book of Exodus. She is especially exploring the roles women played in Exodus and the story of Redemption. Our group will learn more about what is meant by Midrash. Together we will searchfor hidden dimensions of women in the Passover story of Redemption. An overarching question to be discussed/ponder as we move towards Pesach - 'What does redemption mean?'
