The New Shul is partnering with the School for Creative Judaism to bring its unique approach to a new branch of the school opening this September on Fifth Avenue and 12th Street at First Presbyterian Church. The branch will offer a B Mitzvah journey including Hebrew reading, Torah chanting and prayer, alongside in depth study and discussion of Torah stories, Jewish holidays and 20th century Jewish history. Through this experience, shared with other children their age, students will find out for themselves what being Jewish means to them. They gain a sense of community, where they can connect, share and grow together.

One hour classes in small peer groups based on age will be followed by a communal gathering with music and discussion led by cantor and musician Dana Herz and Rabbi Misha Shulman. All teachers at SCJ are Israeli artists living and working in New York.

Locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. For More Info - check out SCJ’s website.
