At this musical service we will travel back to the 16th century in the mountains of the Galilee, where the Kabbalat Shabbat service was created by the mystics of Safed. We will look at the text and melodies of the two central liturgical poems of Friday evening liturgy, Lekha Dodi and Yedid nefesh, which were written in the forests surrounding Safed by two of the great Lurianic Kabbalists, Rabbi Shlomo Elkabetz and Rabbi Elazar Ben Moshe Azikri. Please join Daphna, Rabbi Misha and musical guests for this special evening.
