"Our Zoom Kabbalat Shabbat this Friday falls during the week between Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, which falls today, and Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israeli Independence Day. We will use the opportunity of our gathering to turn our attention to these two special days in our calendar. We will have a chance to light a candle together, and honor the memory of those who were killed with silence, music and prayer. These pieces of our history occupy a place in the heart of our relationship with God, with our tradition and with the world. I look forward to sharing with you some of the hope and inspiration I found on my recent trip to Israel, as we welcome Shabbat together."
