Young Professionals Pesach Putlock

  • First Presbyterian Church (12 west 12 St., NYC) (map)

Join us for a New Shul Young Adults Acharon Shel Pesach - Last Day of Passover - potluck holiday meal, with Rabbi Abby Stein, with songs and music by New Shul's Music Director Yonatan Gutfeld.

Acharon Shel Pesach is a uniquely diasporic holiday, an additional eighth day of Pesach observed only in the Diaspora, highlighting among other things our ability to celebrate, something that feels especially poignant right now. One of the many inspiring customs of this day is an Ashkenazi/Hasidic custom to intentionally share your food on this day with others. It is customary in many communities to bring your food and share it with the community. We love potlucks always, but this is literally the holiday of potlucks!

Join us, bring a dish to share, and if you feel up for it, share a food or holiday food story that is unique to your family, community, background, or just something you favor. We will spend the night singing, eating, sharing stories, and reflecting on the meaning and beauty of celebrating Pesach, and our Jewish lives in the diaspora, Doykeit.
