Tefillin Unbound (for women and men). Sometimes getting wrapped up can set you free... Join Rabbi Dan Ain for an unorthodox exploration of the ancient ritual of laying tefillin, Judaism's original morning meditation practice. These leather straps and boxes are meant to help start the day by connecting mind, heart and hand. The idea is to refocus and reintegrate the (sometimes) disparate aspects of our being before we go out to face the world.

Intrigued? Try it out! Then come across the street to 'Snice for an early morning breakfast and discussion.

Join Rabbi Dan and members of The New Shul at Limmud NY at the Hudson Valley Resort. Limmud NY is a marketplace of all things Jewish. Come celebrate the rich diversity of Jewish life, culture, ideas and perspectives with Jews of all ages and backgrounds.

We start out at the Chelsea Mini-storage (626 West 28th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues) and then head over to the Hudson Guild (26th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) for Kids' Club.

The Rebbe's Table at City Winery's Klezmer Brunch (155 Varick at Vandam). Pull up a chair at the most spirited table in town and join us as we tackle the hard questions in an easygoing setting. Cosmologist David Hogg and Rabbi Dan will discuss the Big Bang, creation and the search for truth.

Jewromatherapy Kabbalat Shabbat with Aromatherapy expert Cathy Gins and Rabbi Dan. For this unique service, we will combine the traditional liturgy and kavanot (intentions) associated with the Shabbat with an experiential journey through a range of fragrances and aromas that can renew, replenish and help heal souls. There will be a light healthy oneg Shabbat served after our aromatic Kabbalat Shabbat experience. Where: Yamuna, 132 Perry Street.

Celebrate Purim at The New Shul's annual "Folies Esthere," an extravaganza unlike any other. King Ahasuerus and Queen Vashti invite you to spend a delicious and dissolute evening at the Royal Palace...here, anything can happen! Food! Wine & Beer! Dancing (drag) Queens! Please come in costume. Free for New Shul members. $10 cover for non-members.

Pull up a chair at the most spirited table in town and join us as we tackle the hard questions in an easygoing setting. Ideas fly, controversy erupts, laughter prevails. Add an amazing roster of Klezmer musicians to the mix, not to mention one of the best brunches around, and you've gor a Sunday morning that's worth getting out of bed for! $15/admission, $12/New Shul members (includes a seat at The Rebbe's Table, music cover charge, coffee/tea and juice; brunch is a la carte).

Join us for Kabbalat Shabbat service led by Rabbi Dan. Followed by a special oneg by Chummus Place featuring Israeli dance with Raz.

Children are invited to attend the main service or join us for Club Shabbat where we'll get into the Shabbat groove with the help of Raz and Susie (plus her keyboard!). Pizza, challah and grape juice will be served.

Rishonim 4th-5th Grade Pot Mazel/Luck Shabbat Dinner. Join Rabbi Dan, Rishonim teachers and students and their families for a special Shabbat dinner celebrating Fourth and Fifth Grade Classes. We'll sing songs, make the blessings over the candles, wine and challah, and hang with new and old friends. This is a Pot Mazel/Luck Dinner, so please RSVP.
Tuesday, 3/16 and Thursday, 3/18, 4-6pm
Bring Your Parents, Grandparents, Care Takers to Rishonim and Passover Chocolate Seder...all in one! Our Chanukah party was such a hit that we are adding a second visiting day. Participate in our ulpan (Hebrew immersion) snack time, play games, and engage in all our fun activities. Then at 5:20pm, come down to the cafeteria for our traditional community Chocolate Seder. Stay for as long as you can, at any point between 4-6pm.

Don't forget to bring kosher for Passover food to be donated to Project Ezra.
